Description

This coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Prussian call to arms in 1813, a turning point in the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon. It remains one of the most popular imperial German commemorative issues among collectors.

The reverse features King Frederick William III on horseback with the patriotic inscription “Der König rief und alle alle kamen” and the historic date 17-3-1813.
The obverse displays the imperial Prussian eagle.

Designed by German medallist Friedrich Wilhelm Hörnlein, known for his detailed patriotic and imperial coinage designs of the early 20th century
